We provide the drape for girls and tux for guys.
For all sessions, start by choosing an outfit that your parents love you in. This should be something that is not incredibly trendy. It should be something that will look good on the wall for a long time. Think of colors that will look good hanging on any wall like blues, black, white, and brown.
Choose something that you love. Express your style. Go shopping.

Music instrument, books, sheet music, iPod, sports items, your dog, cool jackets and hats, art work and easel, vintage clothes, snowboard, wakeboard, skateboard, camera, flowers, pretty pillows, funky chair or ottoman, anything that is you.
For color outdoor images, blues are a first choice. Warm colors also look good on most people. Green and yellow are unflattering to almost every skin tone. Avoid gray, and beige. They take away the “pop” that we want.
Please wear sleeves if your arms are the least bit heavy. You will thank me later.
Make sure your top is not accentuating ripples in your midsection that you want to hide.
For our urban images, wear your fashion forward looks. Bright colors and textures are great. Layers, hats, scarves and boots add style and dimension.
In cool weather, layers of textured sweaters, turtlenecks, corduroy and denim are delightful. Solid color scarves and funky or sweet hats can add magic.
Please feel free to bring more than you need and I will help you choose. Call me anytime for advice on how to look your best. That’s why you chose me as your senior portrait photographer!

Girls- We recommend a professional makeup artist to look your best. Visit Beej Salon right across the street from our studio for a convenient pre-session hair style and makeover. If you do your own makeup, a matte complexion and lips of enough color to set them off from your skin are recommended. Lots of mascara is great, and if you like eye shadow, a brown or plum to add depth is helpful. Use blush in the hollows of your cheeks for b&w images to increase the contouring, and on the apples of your cheeks for color images. Avoid frosted makeup and glitter.
Tans- Please use caution when tanning. More than one person has come here fried. Tan lines are unattractive and I must charge extra to retouch them. Avoid the hassle and move your straps around when tanning. Get a spray on tan if you need color but don’t over do. Look like yourself, please.
Guys- Please shave before the session.
Hair Styles- I recommend having trims two weeks before your session to allow time to look like your normal self. Select a hairstyle that is your normal look. Now is not the time to experiment with up-do’s and new looks.
